Isolation and Purification of DNA (Bacteria, Plant and Animal Cell)

The basic procedure requires releasing DNA from cells and purifying DNA for use in experiments. DNA isolation and purification mainly includes four steps: Cell Lysis Enzymatic treatment Purification of DNA/RNA Quantification of DNA/RNA 1. A biosafety level (BSL), or pathogen / protection level, is a set of bio-containment precautions necessary to isolate hazardous biological agents in a closed laboratory facility. Containment levels range from the lowest biosafety level 1 (BSL-1) to the highest at level 4 (BSL-4). These levels, which are classified from one to four, are selected based on the agents or organisms that are studied or that work in any laboratory environment. For example, a basic laboratory environment specializing in the search for non-lethal agents that pose a minimal potential threat to laboratory workers and the environment are generally considered to be BSL-1, the lowest biosafety laboratory level.
